- (Research):Gospel Herald - Volume XLVII , Number 6 - February 10, 1953 --- page 141, 142Roth. - Catherine, daughter of John and Fannie (Lichti) Jantzi, was born March 4, 1862, in Waterloo Co., Ont., passed away Jan. 6, 1953, at Clarence Center, N.Y.; aged 90 y. 10 m. 2 d. On Dec. 21, 1881, she was married to Daniel Roth, who preceded her in death in 1932. Surviving are 7 children (Fannie Beller, Clarence Center, N. Y.; Anna Otto, Tavistock, Ont.; Catherine, Clarence Center, N.Y.; Nickolas, Regina, Mont.; Elizabeth Mutch, Woodstock, Ont.; Lena Roth, Darien, N. Y. and Sarah Helmuth, Blight, Ont.), 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one sister (Mrs. Fannie Jantz, Wellseley, Ont.). One son, (Moses) preceded her in death. She with her husband and family moved to the Clarence Center community in 1921, where she was a resident until death. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church, remaining a faithful member. Funeral services were held at the Clarence Center Mennonite Church, Clarence, N.Y., Jan. 9, in charge of D. Edward Diener and Jacob Birkey. Interment was made in the Good Cemetery.
