- (Research): DEATHS - FALKINER, Thomas Kingsley "King" -Passed away 20 July 2003 after a long stay at Versa Care in Brantford, in his 87th year. He was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan. His parents were Tom and Charlotte of Saskatchewan; loving husband and best friend of Mary Lou (Cunningham) and the late Wanda (Smith) who predeceased him in 1990; loving father of James (Rosemary), Buffalo; George (Bonnie), Orangeville; Joan (Rick Todd), Napanee; Bill (Brenda), Keswick; Betty-Lou Falkiner (Dom Legos), Niagara Falls; Lorraine Mannering (Jim Gilchrist), Goderich; and Bob, Fort Erie. He has 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Thomas also had seven step-sons, Doug Thorne (Peggy), Simcoe; Larry, John (Lorraine), Howard (Annette) and Brian all of Brantford; Em (Patti), Toronto and Ken (Rachel), Stoney Creek, and had another 14 granchildren and five great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Fan Miller of Fort Erie and brother Roy (Marg), Saskatchewan and was predeceased by sister Marg Humes and brothers Frank, Jim and George. He lived in Fort Erie for many years before moving to Brantford to spend his last years in Versa Care. We wish to thank Dr. Gade and Dr. Johnson also all the staff at Versa Care for making his stay there as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Thomas served in the Air Force in the Second World War. He was a member of the Air Force Association, the Royal Canadian Legion and many other organizations in Fort Erie and Buffalo. He retired from Union Carbide in Buffalo. He will always be remembered for the time he spent on the golf course and playing pool at the Legion. He loved playing cards anytime. Friends will be received at the Fort Erie Chapel of the Davidson Funeral Homes, 21 Wintemute Street on Wednesday at 1 p.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Cremation and Interment will follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. A memorial tree will be planted to honour the memory of Thomas in Memory Woods.
